About This Course

Incident Reporting & Response for Employees teaches every Binarium Corp employee — regardless of technical background — how to recognize a security incident, take the right immediate actions to contain it, and report it correctly to the Security Operations team. In an era where attackers can compromise an entire network within hours of gaining an initial foothold, an informed and responsive workforce is the fastest and most reliable detection mechanism available.

What You Will Learn

• Distinguish between a security event and a security incident, and understand why the difference matters
• Classify incidents by severity level (P1 Critical through P4 Low) and know the appropriate response urgency for each
• Identify the six most common incident types: ransomware outbreaks, phishing clicks, lost/stolen devices, unauthorized access, data leaks, and insider threats
• Recognize early warning signs on your computer and corporate accounts before significant damage occurs
• Execute the correct immediate containment steps: stop, disconnect, do not restart
• Preserve forensic evidence that the Security team needs to investigate and prosecute attackers
• Report incidents correctly — to the right channels (1-855-274-6899 / security@binarium.ca), with the right information, from the right device
• Understand the six-phase Incident Response lifecycle (NIST SP 800-61) and your role in each phase
• Explain legal notification obligations under PIPEDA (Canada) and GDPR (EU) and how your prompt reporting enables compliance

Who Should Take This Course

All Binarium Corp employees with access to corporate systems or client data. This course is particularly critical for employees who: handle sensitive client information, work remotely or travel with corporate devices, use corporate email and cloud applications, or have administrative access to any business system.

Prerequisites

No prior IT or security knowledge is required. Basic computer literacy (email, web browsing, file management) is sufficient. Learners who have completed BSEC101 — Cybersecurity Fundamentals for Corporate Users will find this course builds naturally on that foundation, but it stands alone as a complete course.

Assessment & Certificate

The course includes chapter homework assignments (30% of grade) and a Final Exam (70% of grade). Learners who achieve a cumulative score of 70% or higher receive a Binarium Corp Certificate of Completion in Incident Reporting & Response. This certificate is valid for 12 months and satisfies mandatory annual security awareness training requirements for most Binarium Corp client compliance frameworks.

Duration

Approximately 2–2.5 hours of instructional content plus assessments.
